Half Day Birding Photowalks

Join us for half-day seasonal wildlife classes across New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Delaware, where you'll have the unique opportunity to capture stunning images of some of the most elusive and majestic creatures of the season. These short, expert-led classes focus on multiple fascinating species—peregrine falcons, red fox, screech owls, and great horned owls—allowing you to improve your wildlife photography skills while observing these incredible birds in their natural winter habitats. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced photographer, you'll learn valuable techniques for photographing wildlife in challenging winter conditions, all while experiencing the beauty of the outdoors.  (Please note that any parking, toll, or location admission fees are not included.)

Our half-day wildlife photo walks offer an immersive experience where you can capture the beauty and behavior of some of the most captivating birds of prey in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Delaware. Each class is dedicated to a specific species, including peregrine falcons, screech owls, and great horned owls. With expert guidance, you’ll learn how to approach wildlife photography with patience and precision, honing your skills in field settings. These sessions are designed for all skill levels, from beginners eager to improve their techniques to more experienced photographers looking to refine their craft.

A key component of these classes is teaching participants how to photograph wildlife in a respectful and ethical manner. We emphasize the importance of minimizing disturbance to the animals and their habitats, ensuring that all photography is done from a safe distance. Our instructor will guide you on how to approach wildlife without causing stress or altering their natural behaviors, with a focus on photographing subjects in their natural environment. By adhering to ethical guidelines, you will not only take beautiful photos but also help protect the wildlife you are capturing.

For those using super telephoto lenses (500mm or greater), our classes provide expert advice on how to use these tools effectively. Super telephoto lenses are invaluable for capturing distant subjects with clarity and detail, but they also require a deeper understanding of technique to avoid overstepping boundaries. Our instructor will show you how to achieve sharp, stunning wildlife images while respecting the animals' space and behavior. Whether you are just starting out or just want to add to your portfolio, you'll leave these classes with a stronger sense of both technical ability and environmental responsibility in wildlife photography.
