Throughout the workshop, our expert guide will lead participants to a variety of prime locations, each offering unique opportunities for wildlife photography. With extensive knowledge of the area and its inhabitants, the guide will strategically navigate to spots known for sightings of both birds and mammals, ensuring that participants have the best chance to capture stunning images. From tranquil meadow trails teeming with life to dense forests where elusive species may be lurking, the diverse settings will provide a rich backdrop for your photography. The guide will share insights on animal behavior and habitat, enhancing your understanding of the wildlife and helping you refine your photographic techniques in real-time. This tailored approach ensures an engaging and memorable experience for every participant.

Here’s a list of wildlife that can be seen in winter in the areas we will be targeting:

  • Great Gray Owl: Large owl with gray plumage and striking yellow eyes.

  • Northern Hawk Owl: Medium-sized owl known for its long tail and bold markings.

  • Boreal Chickadee: Small, friendly bird with a dark cap and white cheeks.

  • Common Redpoll: Small finch with a red cap, often seen in flocks.

  • Black-capped Chickadee: Small bird with a black cap and a cheerful song.

  • Pine Grosbeak: Large finch, rosy in males, known for its sociability.

  • Snowy Owl: Iconic white owl, especially stunning in winter.

  • American Tree Sparrow: Small brown bird with a distinctive central spot.

  • Ruffed Grouse: Stocky bird often foraging on the ground.

  • Moose: Large mammals, frequently seen near water or feeding on shrubs.

What kind of car should I rent? What are the roads like?

We will be driving on a mix of paved and dirt roads throughout the trip. Due to the winter weather will need an SUV or 4x4 vehicle.

Payment Options

Pay in installments or pay in full now. Installments start with a non-refundable deposit to hold your spot. The balance is then due 60 days ahead of the trip.

Cancellations Policy

The deposit amount of $1000 is non-refundable. Should you wish to cancel with at least 60 days notice on a trip paid in full any amount paid over the deposit can be deferred to another trip. No refunds/transfers will be given within 60 days of the trip dates.

Travel Insurance

Guests are responsible to obtain travel insurance for this trip. You can often add this on from your airline when booking your flight or through a third party service. We are not responsible for delays, inclement weather, travel cancellations, or costs associated with weather or travel disruption.
